CWU Supports TUC Survey Of Unions On Climate Change And Workplaces

Dave Joyce, CWU’s National Health, Safety & Environment Officer has written to all the Union’s branches encouraging them to take part in a TUC sponsored survey looking at how workplaces are responding to the challenge of climate change.

In LTB054/12, Dave advises branches:

The Labour Research Department (LRD) is carrying out a survey on behalf of the TUC on trade unions, greening the workplace and climate change. The survey is supported by the CWU and all Unions affiliated to the TUC. We would be grateful if you could complete this questionnaire as soon as possible.

It's hoped that the survey will provide a useful picture of progress on trade union action on environment/climate change in the workplace and the role of the trade union movement in this area. It will track progress since the first survey in 2009 which CWU also supported. The plan is to use the results in LRD and TUC publications and reports, including in a forthcoming LRD booklet.

In closing the LTB, Dave says:
